Have you ever let your courage become swallowed-up by your fears? I sure have; I can get pretty anxious about life! It seems that around most every corner, there is a lesson for me to learn. Usually that lesson includes diligence to seek growth while putting one foot in front of the other (we must live life). Then another very real lesson surfaces in the need to possess endurance through a time of waiting on the LORD.
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.” (Is. 40:31)
That we have 'concern', more accurately called worry and the fact that we worry often, is a likely indicator that we have a little trouble waiting on the LORD. I am way too eager to count on my own strength, though there is no doubt that God in His Way and in His Strength is Superior. To have our strength renewed is to have it changed; changed from my incomplete ability to God’s perfect power and provision.
So, sing in your heart with me the phrase we have added to the chorus verse above, “teach me LORD, teach me LORD to wait”.
God be with you today!!
